Keyboard shortcuts
A quicker way to do the things you already know.
Hold the first key, tap the second, then let go. Try these in a writing app with a grown-up. Shortcuts can vary by app; browser keys may do something different.
Copy
Copy selected text or an item. The original stays in place.
Paste
Insert the item you copied or cut.
Cut
Remove a selection so you can paste it elsewhere.
Undo
Reverse a recent action in many apps.
Select all
Select all text or items in the active area.
Save
Save your current work in many desktop apps.
Open printing options. Ask permission before printing.
Find
Look for a word in a document or web page.
Bold
Make selected text bold in many writing apps.
Italic
Slant selected text in many writing apps.
Underline
Underline selected text in many writing apps.
Switch apps
Move between open apps on your computer.
